Under the leadership of Mr. Lal De Silva, Chairman of the Wadduwa Trade and Industrialists Association, a special educational workshop titled “Nena Piyawara” was successfully held at the Vijaya Kumarathunga Hall, Wadduwa.
This program was specially designed for students preparing for the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, with a focus on children from schools that lack adequate facilities. The initiative aimed to provide equal learning opportunities, motivate young learners, and strengthen their confidence ahead of the examination.
The workshop included guidance sessions, model question practices, and motivational talks conducted by experienced teachers and educational professionals. Parents also received valuable insights on how to support their children during this crucial period of their studies.
Chairman Lal De Silva emphasized the importance of community support in education, noting that nurturing young talent is a long-term investment for the future of Wadduwa and the country. He further stated that the Association remains committed to uplifting education and empowering the next generation, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds.
The Wadduwa Trade and Industrialists Association, established in 2002, continues to play a vital role in social development initiatives, supporting not only local businesses but also education, culture, and community welfare projects.
The “Nena Piyawara” workshop was warmly welcomed by students, parents, and teachers alike, and stands as a shining example of how community-driven efforts can create meaningful opportunities for children to achieve their educational dreams.
